Amsterdam Light Festival
When days grow shorter and winter falls Amsterdam’s historical heart becomes the décor for this international renowned Light Art Festival. From the 28th of November 2019 until the 19th of January 2020 artists, architects and designers from all around the world will showcase their creations created specifically for this exhibition throughout the Festival.
Alongside the route 25 installations will the placed in the weeks leading up to the festival carefully selected by the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation out 650 entries. The theme of this year’s Festival is “Disrupt!” and will explore the intricate relation of mankind with nature and the chaos within the order and maybe even the order in the chaos. Remnants of events long gone still have a lasting shadow not always visible to the naked eye but once shown in a different light the lingering presence of natural and human disasters becomes illuminated. The 8th edition of the ALF will test the capitals inhabitants and visitors, maybe even serve as a wakeup call and make you question the nature of your reality.
A recent start-up Rederij Booot and their driven skippers and hostesses are a disruptive energy within Amsterdam’s boating branche where we focus on an intimate experience with young and customer-oriented staff.
